Fees

Every fee on Campus Plus+, laid out in one place — what it is, how much it costs, and why it exists. No surprise charges, nothing buried in fine print.

Marketplace & Gigs Fee

Every transaction carries a small percentage-based fee, split between both sides. It's how Campus Plus+ stays running — covering verification, buyer protection, and the app itself. Campus+ Pro subscribers pay a lower rate on every transaction.

PlanMarketplaceGigs
Free4% buyer + 4% seller, $20 max/side5% client + 5% worker (10% total), no cap
Campus+ Pro2.5% buyer + 2.5% seller, $15 max/side3.5% client + 3.5% worker (7% total), no cap

Marketplace fees are capped at $20/side (Free) or $15/side (Campus+ Pro) so big-ticket items — furniture, electronics — never rack up an outsized fee. Gigs fees have no cap since gig payouts are typically smaller and ongoing.

Stripe Fee

A flat $0.15 fee, charged to each person on every transaction — the buyer and the seller, or the client and the worker. It's separate from the Marketplace & Gigs fee above, and it applies no matter which plan you're on.

Why it exists: Stripe, the payment processor that handles every transaction on Campus Plus+, charges a fixed $0.30 per transaction to move the money safely between accounts — this is Stripe's own cost, not something Campus Plus+ sets or profits from. We split that $0.30 evenly across both people in the transaction, so each side pays $0.15. It's a pass-through cost, dollar for dollar.

Example

A student sells a $40 textbook on the Free plan.

Seller receives: $40 − $1.60 (4% marketplace fee) − $0.15 (Stripe fee) = $38.25

Buyer pays: $40 + $1.60 (4% marketplace fee) + $0.15 (Stripe fee) = $41.75

Why We Charge Fees

Lower Your Fees

Campus+ Pro is the paid membership tier that lowers your Marketplace and Gigs fee on every transaction — the Stripe fee stays the same either way, since that part goes straight to Stripe. See Campus+ Pro pricing for plans.
